Yes, it's a crab: it's small, and it moves sideways incredibly fast... if you climb over rocks, you typically don't see it until it moves and then it's just a flash of dark on the rock. If you keep chasing them then they just run into the water and hide in there.
Which is why I swim in the pool! :)
